For starters, the Kentucky Derby will race at Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026. The race is 1 and 1/4 miles on the dirt. This is the first jewel of The Triple Crown. The entries are all three-year old thoroughbreds that earned the opportunity to participate in America’s Greatest Race by collecting points in designated races over the previous year. Only, twenty of the top twenty-four scoring horses are selected for the Kentucky Derby, leaving some also eligible to cover scratches. This year all of the horses are colts except for Great White, he is gelded.

Posting at 6:57 PM ET, race 12 is on a card of 14. Tune in to Peacock or NBCSN at noon, then NBC or Peacock at 2:30 PM ET. Hopefully, the winner enters and triumphs in the Preakness Stakes and the Belmont Stakes for a rare Triple Crown win.
