The Breeders’ Cup is back! The 40th anniversary edition is set to race November 3rd and 4th, 2023. The World Championships of racing will take place at Santa Anita Park’s racetrack in Arcadia, CA. The fourteen races of the fortieth Breeders’ Cup will be divided into Future Stars Friday and Championship Saturday. Thoroughbred U’s Breeders’ Cup communique covers the race day schedules.

Manny Wah, winner of the 2022 Stoll Keenon Ogden Phoenix stakes, at Keeneland, is entered to win it again this Fall 2023.

Prepare yourself for a racing schedule like no other. Keeneland is out to break records with their stakes racing this October, 2023. This track is starting with the highest purse for their meet ever, at over nine million dollars. Keeneland has 22 stakes on their calendar. Included is a concise list of the stakes schedule, so you don’t miss out on any of the action.

Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, KY is live this October 6th through 28th. Seventeen live days will feature full cards. Overall, ten stakes are dirt races while twelve will be held on the turf. The first three days of Keeneland is Fall Stars Weekend, featuring eleven stakes, valued at over five and a half million dollars. Eight stakes are “Win And You’re In” races for an automatic berth into the 40th Breeders’ Cup. The Breeders’ Cup is hosted by Santa Anita this November 3rd and 4th.

Royal Ascot, is big on my bucket list. As an avid thoroughbred aficionado, I would love to watch The Sport Of Kings, at Ascot Racecourse, in Berkshire, England. The Royal Meeting kicks off Tuesday. I can not attend this year but several American entries will race at Royal Ascot and we can all enjoy them, from wherever we may be.

Thirty five races are scheduled over the five day Ascot meet, from 6/20 through 6/24/23. FanDuel TV and NBC (NBC Sports/Peacock) will offer live and streaming coverage to catch them all. Seven races per day will begin every day at 9:30 AM ET ( 1:10 PM in England) and end at 2:30 PM ET ( 6:10 PM in England). Eight races are Group 1 and least ten United States regulars are hopeful to contend.

  • Tuesday (6/20/23), the races begin with The G1 Queen Anne Stakes at 9:30 AM ET. Modern Games, having raced twice at at my home track, Keeneland, will look to win again. Then, at 10:40 AM ET, plan to watch the Group 1, King’s Stand Stakes. Twilight Gleaming, having raced four times at Keeneland, will go for international glory.
  • Wednesday(6/21/23), will feature five thoroughbreds, that call the United States home. Cynane, Crimson Advocate and Bundchen all face off in the G2, Queen Mary Stakes at 9:30 AM ET. That same day, at 11:20 AM ET, Classic Causeway will post in the G1 Prince Of Wales Stakes. Then, at 1:10 PM ET, watch Fandom race in the Windsor Castle Stakes. Crimson Advocate, Bundchen, Fandom and Classic Causeway, have all raced at Keeneland.
  • Thursday (6/21/23), enjoy the G2 Norfolk Stakes, at 9:30 AM ET, with both No Way Mets and American Rascal. American Rascal won his first and only career start at Keeneland.
  • Saturday (10/24/23), do not miss Big Invasion, in the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes at 10:40 AM ET.

You best believe that this Belmont Stakes is a bolt from the blue. The Test Of The Champions is set for this Saturday and I suspect most fans will be in for a surprise.

Be sure to watch the Belmont Stakes at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. The filly race, The Acorn, is on Friday, 6/9/23 at 5:14 PM ET. Friday’s races are on FS2 from 12:30 PM to 5 PM ET and 6 to 6:30 PM ET. FS1 will play the races from 5 to 6 PM ET. Then, On Saturday, FS1 will televise the card from 11 AM to 7:30 PM ET, while FOX will cover 4 PM to 7:30 PM ET and FS2 will show the races from 7:30 to 8 PM ET.

The Grade 1 Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve is race 12 on a card of 14. This classic stakes for 3 year-old thoroughbreds carries a purse of $ 3 million dollars. It is a 1 and 1/4 mile dirt race, posting at 6:57 PM ET. The races will air from noon until 7:30 PM ET on NBC.

The long awaited 149th Longines Kentucky Oaks is ready to race! Friday, the field of fourteen filles will take to the track at Churchill Downs in Kentucky.
