Breeder’s Cup World Championships were created to identify and celebrate the best of North America’s thoroughbreds at the end of each year. The BC has evolved to a two day schedule hosting fourteen Grade I stakes with entries from around the globe. To qualify for a BC race, a horse must either win a BC Challenge Series race, earn points from major annual Grade I through III races or be nominated by a panel. There were 84 Challenge Series races in ten counties this year. This BC includes 196 thoroughbreds, of which 56 were shipped from overseas. Today, November 5th, 2021 is Future Stars Friday, for the who’s who of the 2 year-olds. On 11/6/21, the BC races continue and culminate with the Longines BC Classic!

Golden Pal, will race in the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint.

Meanwhile, that is $31 million in purses for the 2 days of live racing! I hope that those who are attending will truly enjoy Del Mar’s only second hosting of the Breeders’ Cup. It looks like a gorgeous track and is has been a staple in Southern California racing since 1937.

However, if you are watching from your television set, like myself, please tune to NBCSN, NBC and TVG. NBCSN will cover the races starting at 5 PM ET on 11/5 and 2:30 PM ET on 11/6. Regular NBC will pick up coverage on the 6th at 8:00 PM ET for the BC Classic!

Del Mar is where the champs are, this weekend. Don’t miss out on these Breeders’ Cup races. Thank you for reading and visit my site again soon for more on thoroughbred racing with Thoroughbred U!
