First, be sure to see the Jeff Ruby Steaks at Turfway Park, in Florence, KY. Race 12 on a card of 13 is loaded with twelve thoroughbreds, as the last two entries were listed as also eligible. All are KY bred colts except two are gelded and Circle P is (MD) bred as indicated below. The all weather track will be raced upon at a distance of 1 and 1/8 miles at 6:25 PM ET. Inaugurated in 1972, this Grade III stakes has a $700,000 purse. The Jeff Ruby Steaks awards a big hike in points , offering 100-50-25-15-10 points to the first 5 finishers in respective order. Next, the Louisiana Derby posts at 6:42 PM ET in New Orleans, LA. Dating back to 1894, this year’s Grade II stakes is the final race on a card of 12. This Fair Grounds’ dirt track race is 1 and 3/16 miles and the purse is $1 Million dollars. Again, 100-50-25-15-10 points are at stake. Additionally, the fourth and final race on The Japan Road To The Kentucky Derby is the Fukuryu Stakes. On 3/25/24, this stakes will take place at Nakayama Racecourse in Chiba, Japan at 15:10. The Fukuryu was inaugurated in 2000. The race is 1800 meters, approximately 1 and 1/8 miles, on dirt with a purse if $265,000. 40-20-12-8-4 points will be awarded.
